The Mission: InfraredPhotography.co.uk is a dedicated resource for photographers exploring the invisible spectrum. While standard photography captures the world as we see it, infrared imaging reveals the hidden properties of light, foliage, and atmosphere.
This site is designed to bridge the gap between scientific theory and creative practice. Whether you are looking for technical comparisons of 720nm vs 590nm filters, tutorials on channel swapping, or hardware advice for full-spectrum conversions, our goal is to provide clear, actionable data to help you master this medium.
About the Editor: I am Keith Martin (aka ‘ThatKeith’). I am a photographer and educator (also a designer, developer and author), with a background in technical writing and product reviews. Previously, I served as MacUser magazine’s Technical Editor for 18 years).
My journey into infrared began as an experiment and evolved into an obsession. I realized that much of the information online was either too academic (pure physics) or too vague (‘just buy this filter’). I built this site to document the specific workflows, filter stacks, and post-processing techniques that yield consistent, high-quality results.
Transparency & Ethics:Â All reviews and tutorials on this site are based on my own practical testing with real hardware. I do not accept paid placements for positive reviews. When I recommend a specific filter (such as the B+W KB-20) or a camera modification, it is because it is part of my personal daily workflow.
